FAQs

Why should I use Vision and not my insurance company if I’m involved in a non-fault accident?

If you call your insurance company you will be required to claim under your own policy, you will have to pay your policy excess (if appropriate) and your policy is likely to only cover you for use of a small courtesy car while yours is being repaired. If your vehicle is a write-off you would not normally be provided with a courtesy car at all.

If you call Vision there are a whole host of benefits your insurance company simply can’t provide including:

  • A ‘like for like’ replacement vehicle while yours is repaired

  • You won’t have to pay your excess

  • Management of the repairs of your vehicle or a settlement cheque for a write-of

  • Your no claims bonus will remain unaffected

  • And much more!

What if my car is a write off?

If your vehicle is declared a write-off, the insurer will issue a payment for the pre-accident value of your vehicle. You can remain in the hire vehicle for up to 7 days after the payment is received, allowing you to remain mobile while you purchase a replacement.

What does the service cost me?

We do not charge our customers for our services. We earn solely through the supply of the hire car, the cost of which is recovered under our agreement with the guilty driver’s insurer.

What does Vision require from me in order to deal with my claim?

We will ask you for information about the accident, don’t worry if you are missing anything, we will investigate and make enquiries on your behalf.

Who will pay for the cost of the replacement vehicle that Vision supply?

The cost of the vehicle we supply you with will be recovered by us, on your behalf, from the guilty party’s insurer.

What if the other driver’s insurer doesn’t pay for the cost of the hire car?

As long as you have been truthful about the accident circumstances and co-operate with us and the insurer for the duration of the claim, we will not seek to recover from you any costs that are unpaid.

Can I still make a claim if the other driver wasn't insured?

Don’t worry, we may still be able to help you. If you’re fully comprehensively insured, we can recover the hire vehicle costs from the Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB), an organisation that exists to compensate any innocent party who has been involved in an accident with an uninsured driver.

Can you provide a replacement vehicle to all of your clients?

Yes, as long as you have a day to day need for a replacement car and there is a negligent driver’s insurer to recover the costs from.

What types of vehicles can you supply?

Our large fleet includes many different makes of both prestige and mainstream cars; we can also easily supply different types of vans and recovery trucks. In fact, whatever your vehicle replacement requirement we will endeavour to provide it for you.

How long am I allowed to keep the replacement vehicle for?

You can keep the hire vehicle until the completion of your repairs. In the event that your vehicle is a write off, our agreement allows for our customers to keep the hire vehicle for up to 7 days after the settlement cheque is received.

Who provides insurance cover on the replacement vehicle?

We will normally provide insurance cover for you; however, in exceptional circumstances it may be necessary for you to insure the vehicle.

Does it matter where in the UK I live?

No. Our service extends to cover all of mainland UK.

Do you offer a delivery and collection service, and if so is there an additional charge for me to pay?

We will arrange with our customers a suitable time and place for the delivery and collection of the hire vehicle (usually your home or work address, or the repairing garage). The costs for this service are typically covered by the at-fault insurer.

Do I have to do anything whilst the claim is ongoing?

We simply ask that you co-operate with us and the insurers to help avoid any unnecessary delays. Leave the rest to us, we will keep you fully updated at every stage on the progress of your claim.
